Online Marketing Made Easy
Christine has done it again. She has taken the complicated topic of choosing a WordPress Theme and explained the options and made smart, clear recommendations. Two Thumbs Up for Christine.
Thanks Jim!
Hi Christine,
You’re so right. Stuff isn’t free, there’s so many extra things one needs. Which is okay. Everything can’t be free, but it does make getting started a bit of a challenge. At least for me right now.
I appreciate this e-book. Basically, I’m trying to figure out if I can get part of what I need up as a web blog. If I can add something each month until I get the basic set completed … maybe in two months. I could then link to my articles and blog posts from sites I visit, plus my social media posts. Just to get started …
For instance, get the hosting, WP theme, and security now. I have my domain name. Then add BackupBuddy. By then I can probably handle the monthly aWeber cost. But I have to check and see about a few other things that go along with that.
Also, I don’t see anywhere that Atahualpa (theme) is suggested. And yet, when I took a class from Marc Benetau, he recommended that free framework because it was so versatile.
Okay, so I’ll study your book and come back and ask a more informed question.
Just to say too that I pay attention to all your replies on the mynams forums.
Have a great day.
Patricia
P.S. I have no problem, whatsoever, sharing the wealth with you.
Patricia
You can definitely get started with very little money. You have to have a domain name which is $12 a year or less. You have to have hosting which is about $7-8 per month. That’s it. Yes, having a premium theme, some premium plugins and an autoresponder should be on your list but you don’t need them to start.
Writing quality blog posts on a regular basis should be your first priority in order to build a regular reader base.
I mention Atahualpa in the ebook as I think it is a quality free theme that doesn’t need a child theme with it. I continue to use that theme on a couple of niche sites I built early on.
Thanks for your kind words!
